PILBARA CHRISTIANS PREPARE FOR NEWMAN EASTER CONVENTION
This Easter weekend, many will gather from near and far in Nyiyparli country for the Pilbara Easter convention.
The Convention intends to celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua, The Messiah.
The theme for the Easter Convention is to reignite the flame within the body of Christ.
God-fearing Ngarluma emerging elder Josie Samson said she’s excited for the upcoming event and the bringing together of the body of Christ.
“In God's word, it says that you either be cold or hot. You cannot be lukewarm because He will spit us out. So the theme is just coming together and reviving in the flame of God.”
Ms Samson has been involved in the Easter Conventions for many years and strongly believes in the importance of gathering God's people together. Through this event, many are encouraged to share the Gospel. The convention is also said to be a great place for strengthening each other and building faith.
“Easter is not exactly about bunny rabbits and eggs and Hot Cross Buns,” Ms Samson said. It's about Jesus who was crucified on the cross to save us by the shedding of his Precious Blood to bring us back into Him.
“As Jesus said, ‘Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ And so it was finished at the cross. So when we come to Him, because he has made the way back to the Father. In John 14 verse 16, Jesus said, ‘I am the way the truth and the life no man, come to the father, but by me,’ so coming together having this Easter convention is what it's about Jesus.”
“Come back and get on fire with God.”
