NO MORE HUMBUG: WORKSHOPS AIM TO PREVENT FINANCIAL ABUSE
The Kimberley Community Legal Service is holding a series of ‘No Humbug’ workshops to assist elders who might be targets of financial abuse.
Kimberley Community Legal Service social worker Amber Copland said there are resources available for those who find themselves victims of financial abuse.
“Up here we’ve got terrific financial counselors who are willing to get on board and put safeguards around people and money,” she said.
“In the West Kimberley, we have financial counselors at KCLS (Kimberley Community Legal Service), we’ve got a financial counselor there and client advocates they can go to.”
If you or somebody you know is the target of elder abuse you can call the Elder Abuse helpline on 1300 724 679.
