THE INSPIRING LEGACY OF NEIL COYNE, NC VIPER

Neil Coyne is the first Noongar wrestler and the first Noongar champion. His remarkable journey began in his late 30s, fueled by a deep passion for the sport. Despite starting his wrestling odyssey later in life, Neil's commitment and drive have established him as a trailblazer in the wrestling community.

As he honed his skills, his dedication and talent captivated his friends and family, who eagerly cheered him on during competitions. Neil's character, NC Viper, reflects both his initials and his love for snakes, adding a unique flair to his performances.

Recently, Neil participated in a retirement match, an event that allowed him to reflect on his journey and express gratitude to his supporters. As he described it, “The match becomes like a blur and it’s so quick when you’re in the moment from bell to bell.”

In his farewell, he shared an inspiring message: “Don’t be afraid to do whatever you want to do.” This sentiment encourages others to pursue their passions just as he did when he chose wrestling over other sports.

Neil’s spirit will undoubtedly continue to resonate within the wrestling community, inspiring future generations to step into the ring and make their own mark.
