NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK IS ON AGAIN
Across Australia, this week is National Science Week.
Tayla Griffin, Gangalu woman and aerospace systems engineer, told Ngaarda Media she’d like to see the science community become better at communicating in culturally appropriate ways with First Nations people.
“Embedding Indigenous knowledge is really important, not just in the school curriculum but in the workplace,” she said. “So we are creating a culturally safe space where these mob can come and there’s no systemic barrier for them to participate in that space.”
In the Pilbara, Karratha Senior High School will hold its annual science fair today from 4.30 pm.
