MUSIC: Nate Newcastle - Old Man On His Bike
Nate Newcastle got his name from his Grandad who is stolen generation. He was taken at the age of two from a place called Newcastle Water Station near Anthony’s Lagoon so that’s the name that was allocated to him when he got to Croaker Island in the Northern Territory.
His Grandads and Dad’s name are both Anthony Newcastle, and his name is Nathan Anthony Newcastle.
Nate is a teacher and indigenous coordinator in Melbourne but before that taught in the remote aboriginal community of Cherbourg in Queensland for three years.
Nate taught himself to play music and his recent EP was inspired by his Dad who played the didgeridoo, acted and wrote plays.
