ONSLOW TEEN SHINES IN COOLGARDIE RODEO

A Banjima teenager has won the the Breakaway Roping event at this year’s Coolgardie Rodeo.

The belt went to Onslow’s Xavier Cox with a time of four seconds.

“It was the first run of the day,” Mr Cox said.

”I was luck enough to get four seconds on that calf, and then got the breakaway, and then got to time. I was pretty lucky!”

The 17-year-old said he now hoped to compete in the United States.
