MIDNIGHT OIL GET READY FOR STOMPEM GROUND

Australian rock legends Midnight Oil will play at the Stompem Ground festival in Broome as part of their last ever tour.

Stompem Ground will return to Broome for the first time in 20 years on September 17.

Jim Mogine from Midnight Oil told Ngaarda Media this will be the band’s last tour.

“Playing the sort of music we play, energetic, hyped-up rock music with high tempos, I think we’ve got to a point where we’re going, ‘well, we could keep doing it,’” he said. “But there’s a line you cross where you don’t know if someone’s going to tap you on the shoulder and say ‘hey guys, you should stop.’”

Midnight Oil will be joined at Stompem Ground by a lineup that includes the Pigram Brothers and Blekbala Mujik.
