MEET THE GREENS CANDIDATE

The Greens have chosen a candidate to contest the North West Central by-election.

He is former Exmouth school teacher Niels Glahn-Bertlesen.

Ngaarda Media asked why Aboriginal people should vote for him.

“What people have been telling me, and the big issues for our communities, are things like housing, health, mental health, protecting cultural heritage and a big one in the space I’m currently working in is youth engagement and trying to keep our young people out of the prison system,” he said.

Mr Bertlesen is currently working as a youth engagement officer in Broome.
