MARITIME TRAINEESHIP OPPORTUNITY

An exciting traineeship opportunity for Indigenous youth has come available. Maritime Employees Training Limited, CEO Kevin Hunt discussed with Ngaarda media’s Andrew Sharpe about the exciting opportunity.

Trainees will learn skills to achieve an integrative ratings qualification which will allow employees to work on bulk carriers and cargo vessels offshore. The position will offer training on effectively anything that is needed to keep the ship operating in different roles from the top to the bottom of the vessels. “This is a very good paid position and has a very good work life balance.”

Successful applicants can expect to complete the qualification within approximately 15-16 months, with 9 months experience on sea and home for 15 days after every 70 days off shore.
