LONG LIST OF CHARGES LAID AFTER BROOME CAR CHASE
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with 20 offences following a police pursuit in Broome yesterday.
Police allege the teenager drove a stolen four-wheel drive through the streets of Broome on-and-off for more than an hour before being arrested.
Senior Sergeant Dean Bailey said the incident caused serious risk to public safety.
“Throughout the incident there were times when [the vehicle] drove into Broome Senior High School and onto the oval, putting people at severe risk,” he said.
“A short time after that, it went into China Town in the heart of Broome.”
“At one point in time it was on a footpath.”
Charges laid include driving without authority, robbery, and endangering the life, health or safety of a person.
Video provided by police show police ramming the allegedly stolen vehicle and apprehending the boy.
