The law firm that reached a settlement with the WA government over stolen wages for Aboriginal workers has begun a tour through the Pilbara to speak to potential claimants.

Last year, the state government agreed to pay up to $180 million to compensate Aboriginal people who worked in Western Australia for little or no wages between 1936 and 1972.

Shine Lawyers Solicitor Tulli Seton said anyone who thinks they might be eligible should attend a session or get in contact.

“We’re coming out the Pilbara to help group members register for the settlement and also to give them all the key information they need to know about what the settlement involves and what their rights are,” she said.
