KEARYN GETS A WALKLEY

NITV’s WA correspondent has become the first man to win a Walkley Young Indigenous scholarship.

Noongar journalist Kearyn Cox is a cross platform journalist at NITV. 

He said the scholarship would allow him to work for six weeks with Junkee Media and a further six weeks with Channel 10.

“I plan to tell more yarns for my mob, I really don’t plan on stopping that,” he said. “I just feel like using these new platforms to basically do that. I just want to keep working for my mob and keep telling yarns and connecting with people. I really enjoy it. It’s a real passion of mine.”
