KATIE BROOKE: HARD WORK, PASSION, AND A BIG YEAR AHEAD
BY KARLEY REDFERN
Katie Brooke’s vocals and lyrics have earned her a strong fanbase, with her song Too Far Gone being the most charted Australian country song on radio in 2023. As an ambassador for Thomas Cook, Pure Western, and Wrangler, Katie is solidifying her place in the industry.
She’s also had the chance to open for Adam Eckersley and Brooke McClymont, which she described as the most fun she’s had.
“They’re hilarious and so relaxed, but they’re professional and fun at the same time,” she said.
“They can make you laugh and cry in one show, that’s talent.”
Looking ahead, Katie’s second studio album will drop mid-year, with a tour following shortly after. She’s currently wrapping up the final songs in Tamworth and plans to begin the tour in Brisbane, covering the Northern Rivers, Tamworth, and the Hunter region.
When asked about dream collaborators, Katie mentioned Joy Williams, an American singer-songwriter. She admires her work and would love the opportunity to write with her.
“I often listen to her and think she’d be lovely to sit down and write with,” she said.
Despite a busy week with nine shows, Katie is fully committed to her work, saying, “It’s all about working hard and being passion-fueled.”
Her favourite type of show is a songwriter's round, and she’s looking forward to a performance with Corey Leggy and Piper Butcher.
She ended the interview by performing Too Far Gone, one of her most personal songs, expressing her gratitude for the support she receives: “I’ve been doing this for a long time now, and I always appreciate anyone who connects to my music.”
Katie Brooke’s dedication and passion for her craft continue to make an impact, and her fans can expect much more to come.
