This week, a reunion for Aboriginal people who spent time at Carnarvon Mission will be held in Ieramagadu, Roebourne.

Many Aboriginal people, including children separated from their families, lived at Carnarvon Mission between 1945 and 1975.

The event will take place on April 18th and 19th and will be run by Yorgum Healing’s Link-Up service, which offers support to members of the Stolen Generations.

Service Manager Cheryl Auggasson said the event will include food, entertainment, a photo display, and a chance for participants to learn about services offered by Yorgum Healing.

“I think it’s going to be a really lovely event for people to reconnect and just yarn and talk about their days in the mission,” she said.
