INTERVIEW: PARRTJIMA FESTIVAL CURATOR RHODA ROBERTS
The Parrtjima Festival is the only Aboriginal light festival of its kind in the world and takes place every year in Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
Parrtjima Curator Rhoda Roberts joined Marion Cheedy on The Ngaardawila Hour to explain what it’s all about.
“We’re back … with an incredible lineup of Central Desert and Western Desert art, but also we have a huge program, a national program that focusses on music, talks and ideas,” she said.
“We have workshops. We have blak markets this year. It’s a wonderful family event, a free event, and you literally see culture lit up in lights.”
Take a listen to hear more, including Rhoda Roberts discussing highlights from her varied career:
This year’s Parrtjima Festival will run from April 12-24.
