INTERVIEW: DESMOND BLURTON ON ALL-WHITE JURIES

Ballardong Nyungar man and Deaths in Custody Watch Committee deputy chairman Desmond Blurton is organising a rally in Perth on Thursday to demand an end to all-white juries in cases related to Aboriginal deaths in custody.

‘We need to be equals on this land of ours,” he said.

“We need a fair system in the jury system, to have a say on behalf of our people.

“All white juries do not represent our mob. They have no connection to our mob, no connection to boodja.”
