INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY FIRST NATIONS HEALTH
The University of Sydney is offering a new Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion.
The 12-month online scholarship offers new opportunities who are already working in the health profession to gain more skills and experience in their profession and is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
University of Sydney Lecturer, Jasper Garay says as the course is online, anyone can study from across the country and graduates have an amazing chance to be role models for the community.
“Well, the most important thing for us is that we actually know that people from community themselves are the best experts on what's going on in community. What is the most important priority health issues out of them? and what needs to be done before anything else happens? So not only social/emotional well-being and health outcome to approve. But also for our future generations, to come through with good role models that have been to University and had good experience.”
