I DON'T WANT TO BE IN BUSINESS ANYMORE

New Wave Catering in the LIA of Karratha has been broken into at around 1:30 am last night after a car was driven into the shop front.

The owner and manager, Jeff Harris, said that he got a call from the police early on Wednesday morning informing him of the news.

He said there was major structural damage to the building surrounding the door and the thieves ruined the cigarette dispenser despite not being able to take anything from it, took drinks and potato chips, and made a mess inside the shop.

“Destroyed the cigarette machine that I've got in there, but they couldn't break into it just destroyed it and made one hell of a mess and took a heap of cool drinks in the kitchen.”

“It’s beyond belief at the end of the day. It's a big cost to me and to my staff and could very well send me broke. My insurance keeps on going up and I don't know what to make of it. I know the police have their hands tied and all that type of stuff.”

Mr. Harris said the cost of the damage would be around $30,000 and he was struggling to keep up with rising insurance costs, loss of income due to not being able to open for two days, and needing to repair damage to the inside of his shop and the building.

“Put it this way, at this stage. I don't really want to be in business anymore. That's for sure.”

If anyone has any information they are encouraged to notify Karratha Police.
