A Pilbara truck driver and driver trainer has been named Professional Woman of the Year by an international transport industry group.

At the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport annual conference, held this year in Perth, Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls founder Heather Jones accepted the award on last night.

“It’s a recognition award for the work that the most outstanding female in the world-wide CILTA organisation has done,” she said.

“So it’s a pretty big award and I’m extremely grateful and pretty humbled to be given that award.”
