HALLS CREEK SHIRE CALLS FORUM ON SOCIAL ISSUES
In the Kimberley, the Halls Creek Shire CEO has called a forum with key decision-makers to address social issues in the local area.
Halls Creek Shire CEO Phill Cassell says he is tired of hearing excuses of what can not be done to make positive change.
“I just feel the issues and I got to a point where I was just tired of hearing excuses why things can’t be done and what we can’t do and why there’s barriers to solutions,” he said.
Mr Cassell said barriers put up by government departments were frustrating.
“All these barriers I kept hearing from different departments, it really just got under my nose, so I’ve called a Major Forum here in Halls Creek,” he said.
Participants in the forum to take place next week will include the Department of Communities, police and local Aboriginal organizations.
