HALLS CREEK ON TARGET FOR SHOOTERS
In the East Kimberley, Halls Creek Shire is to have its own shooting range for gun owners to hone their skills.
Shire President Malcolm Edwards said it would be located in an old gravel pit some distance from town.
He said it would be safe as a bund of earth would absorb all of the bullets behind the targets, and police would also be present.
“They can go down and test their weapons, and anyone else that’s got a rifle can join and go down there,” he said. “There will be people down there to assist you with rifle safety and zeroing your rifle in and helping you and advising you. There are a couple of people in town here who have got considerable knowledge.”
