BANJIMA MAN TRAVELS TO LOS ANGELES TO ATTENDED THE ICONIC FESTIVAL CALLED COACHELLA

Ben Jeakings, a Banjima man, had a once-in-a-lifetime experience and took his sister along for the ride.

They both flew from Australia to Los Angeles and drove two hours out of LA to Palm Springs, where Coachella was held.

While at Coachella, Ben wore Aboriginal-designed clothing from the Pilbara, which intrigued many festivalgoers. This caught the festivalgoers' attention and sparked their curiosity about his Aboriginal culture and clothing designs.

Many people couldn't help but ask about his background and where they could purchase Aboriginal-designed clothing.

“ I Guess you would say mesmerised by what they were seeing and the patterns they were seeing. I guess it just wasn't something that was traditionally seen in America, these types of patterns and the way that they were in the way that they were displayed”.

Ben had an amazing time in America with his little sister, watching amazing artists such as Lana Del Ray, Doja Cat, Jene Aiko and many others.

He came across many people who were very nice and complimented them.

He got to party with some celebs and tell stories, and that got Ben thinking about how Australians have it easy here.

Ben also mentioned that being away from home opened his eyes to fully embrace the country and land that he comes from.

When asked what he would say to anyone considering an overseas trip, he said.

“My advice is to take the leap of faith, book the flight, and let the rest follow. Make it up as you go along”.
