GUMALA ABORIGINAL CORPORATION SHINES AT PILBARA FOR PURPOSE AWARDS

The Pilbara for Purpose Awards were handed out on Saturday night. 

This year the theme was Reaching for the Stars – Reaching Out for Others” to acknowledge and celebrate those striving for excellence.

Many Not For Profit Organisations shined at the Awards and were applauded for their work.

The Gumala Aboriginal Corporation was nominated in two categories, winning the Dream Award and the Most Outstanding Pilbara Organisation.

 Gumala Aboriginal Corporation Chief Operating Officer Ashley, Counsellor, said many great community services are doing great work across the Pilbara region.

He said their Corporation looks after the mob in several ways.

“We as an organization are trying to support our members to live comfortably and improve their own lifestyles through their own choices and aspirations.

“So, one of our programs in their housing support space is to be able to build our participants’ capacity to understand what it means to be a homeowner.”
