Rock star and former politician Peter Garrett gave Woodside Energy a tongue-lashing at Midnight Oil’s Perth concert on Sunday.

Against a red backdrop bearing the words “Woodside Ecocide”, Garrett said people making a lot of money had a moral responsibility to future generations.

“Why are Woodside, this company, wanting to produce so much poisonous gas which will build the temperature problems of the climate crisis?” he asked.

“It is a corporate, moral and cultural crime that they are committing.”

The concert was the Perth date in what is billed as Midnight Oils’ final tour.
