KARRATHA GROUP IS RAISING FUNDS FOR FAMILIES IN THE PHILIPINES IMPACTED BY TYPHOON

Three typhoons have struck the Philippines this year alone. In addition to the strong winds, these weather systems bring heavy rain, which causes flooding on the islands.

This devastation is costly to the local economy. Still, the local Filipino community here in the Pilbara raises funds to send back to their home country to help the recovery effort.

Ngaarda Media spoke with KC Curz, who says that people in the city and other regions have lost everything.

“Recently we had a typhoon, it was actually one of the biggest. For example, my family lives in the Philippines, and in the city, half of the houses were flooded. They lose a lot of their stuff; they are back to zero.”
