Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over the age of 16 will have the chance to share their experiences buying goods and services as part of a survey being conducted by the state government.

Department of Consumer Protection Senior regional Officer Gwynneth Haywood says the survey will help empower Indigenous Australians by providing information about consumer protection.

β€œIt also helps us identify unlawful conduct by traders and gives us an idea of what sort of educational programs we need to develop that will empower people to know their consumer rights,” she said.

The survey will close on the 28th of April.
