FIRST NATIONS BOARD FOR WOOLIES

As it approaches its 100th year of operation, the national retailer Woolworths has appointed a First Natinons advisory board to improve engagement with Indigenous communities.

Board member and Iman man Adam Bray said the company employed 5,000 Indigenous people across Australia.

“It became really clear of the growing need to bring Indigenous voices to the table to seek those Indigenous solutions to some of the challenges and opportunities that we saw in front of us,” he said.

Mr Bray said the board intended to keep improving the experience of its Indigenous employees, as well as its Indigenous customers.

“Just like all of our customers, in some of the challenges we’re facing today around the cost of living and what that does, it’s also ensuring that our customers can walk into our stores and feel welcome and have a positive experience in the same way that any other Australian can.”
