National Stroke week runs from 7 - 14 August.

Stroke is a terrible thing for many Australians, and it can ruin lives. 

Noongar Elder Ernie Smith suffered a stroke and says Indigenous art and culture really helped his recovery.

He spoke to Conrad Maclean.
