In Perth, family and friends of a group of boys attacked on their way home from school, one fatally, are concerned only one arrest has been made.

Police have charged Jack Steven James Brearley, 21, with the murder of 15-year-old Cassius Turvey’s murder, but family members say the boys identified up to four other accomplices, naming some of them.

Ballardong Watjuk woman Donna Nelson said family and community members had been voicing their concerns over the phone and social media.

“Family and community members have private-messaged me their concerns, saying: ‘these are the individuals’ ,” she said. “And yet we’re still seeing that there’s no arrests. At least there should have been questioning. Community is now saying they have the fear that there’s been ample time for these individuals to flee the state. And there’s little faith in our justice system that they will return and justice will be served.”

Cassius was attacked at Middle Swan on November 13, and died on Sunday.

A police spokesperson said investigations were ongoing.
