CAR THIEVES TARGET NEWMAN

In the Pilbara, Newman Police are looking for people who stole two cars, one about a week ago and one on Sunday.

Senior Sergeant Ray Anderson said they recovered the car stolen during a house burglary on Sunday, which had been used to commit other offences before the thief or thieves abandoned it.

“And then about a week ago there was a vehicle taken from a residence in Newman,” he said. Then that vehicle was used in some other stuff here and then it was, we believe, driven to Hedland where it was involved, maybe, in an ‘evade police’ incident. And then the vehicle was abandoned in Hedland and we believe the offenders haven’t returned to Newman.”
