CALL IT OUT REGISTER GIVES VOICE TO DISCRIMINATION VICTIMS
Indigenous Australians now have the opportunity to register and document instances of racism with the Call it Out Campaign Register.
The Call It Out Register provides an online mechanism for First Nations Australians to anonymously report instances of direct or systemic racial discrimination they may have experienced or witnessed.
The National Justice Project Communications and Advocacy Manager, Tim Ginty says that the information collected by the Call it Out Register will be analysed and used to advocate for social change.
‘‘All of that data that you submit, those stories will be collected by the academic team, and then that academic team analyses it and they create an annual report,’’ he said.
‘‘And that annual report contains all the findings so all the different patterns, the frequency, the extent, the geography, and with that report we can then advocate for social change.’’
