BREAST CANCER TRIALS ARE CONDUCTING AN ONLINE Q&A
The Breast Cancer Trials research group will be hosting a free online Q&A for the Maori, Pasifika and Indigenous communities.
On the 26th of July between 3:30-5pm Eastern State Time, the forum will be hosted by New Zealand TV & radio broadcaster, Stacey Morrison.
A panel of the top breast cancer experts from Australia and New Zealand will be taking the community's questions of the importance of Breast Cancer screening.
The panel will also be breast cancer survivors from Aboriginal, Maori and Pasifika communities.
An Aboriginal woman, Andrea Casey is a survivor of breast cancer and will be part of the panel for the event.
Ms. Casey said that she is hoping to bring a cultural lens to the forum for Aboriginal woman.
“I think we can learn from each other,” she said.
“I think that getting the word out there about clinical trials is a good thing and sharing ideas about that.”
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the latest research and the challenges facing indigenous communities regarding breast cancer diagnosis, trials and treatments.
