Police in outback communities have been putting on Blue Light discos with a Halloween theme to entertain local kids.

In Tom Price, acting sergeant Luke Williams said 300 kids came for an evening of pumpkin carving and dancing on Friday with the help of his staff.

“The whole team volunteered their time to get down there to make it a successful night for the kids,” he said. “We all had a ball actually. I think most of the town appreciated us going there and getting it sorted for them.”

Wyndham Police sergeant Gary Thwaites said they threw a Halloween party on Thursday.

“We had kids of all ages there from two years old up to about 15 and the majority of them were dressed in the appropriate attire which was looking very good,” he said. “They really got into the spirit of things and you’ll probably find that some Police Officers also got into the spirit of things and dressed up a little bit as well.”
