Broome candidate Wyston Shovellor, spent his entire life in the West Kimberley, where he was born and raised.

He is passionate about his cultural heritage, that’s been shaped by growing up near Beagle Bay and Bidyadanga.

I am filled with pride”, Mr Shoveller said.

“I’ve witnessed both the joys and challenges of living in our close-knit community.

Now, I’ve stepped forward to drive positive changes that will benefit our diverse and ever-growing community."

My background includes working as a ranger on country and serving in policy roles for both State and Federal Governments.

This dual experience—both on the ground and within bureaucracy—has equipped me to lead effectively.

I’ve also had the privilege of representing my community at international forums such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the National Indigenous Youth Parliament, and the National Climate Change Summit.

My passion lies in amplifying the voices of our entire community. I’m committed to meaningful engagement on critical issues. By ensuring diverse perspectives are heard, we can foster economic inclusion and create a bright future for everyone."
